Has been a part of labour and peace movements in Pakistan and has played a key role in linking up these movements with regional and global counterparts. Founding Member: Pakistan Institute of Labour Education & Research; Pakistan-India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy; Pakistan Peace Coalition. Convener, South Asian Labour Forum, Pakistan Chapter. Member, International Council, World Social Forum; Member, Steering Committee, People’s SAARC; Member, International Advisory Committee, Hague Appeal for Peace. Former member of the board of several national development organizations. Former Member of many state-officiated committees on labour. Honorary Fellow, International Institute of Social History. Author of numerous articles and essays on labour, politics and development.
